Millions of older people enjoy a happy and active older age, volunteering in their local communities, or spending time with friends and family. Yet around 1.8 million older people in the UK still live in poverty - a number larger than the total population of Liverpool, Newcastle and Birmingham put together.
NPC has written two reports on older people:
Grey matters: Growing older in deprived areas, NPC’s report on older people, highlights some of the issues facing older people, and recommends charities that are helping them to enjoy their lives.
When I’m 65: Ageing in 21st century Britain is an update of Grey matters. It looks at what has changed for older people, considers the action government has taken, and revisits the charities from the earlier report.

'Working with NPC has been enjoyable and thought-provoking. It does exactly what needs to be done in the charity sector.'
