NPC secures grant for 'Sure Funding' a report for the ACEVO Sure Funding Commission

The Active Community Unit at the Home Office has awarded NPC a grant from the 'National Exemplar Fund' to fund the research for a report investigating funding relationships for public services delivered by the voluntary sector. This research is being undertaken in partnership with the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO). The report, due to be published mid-November 2004, will involve extensive investigation of current and potential funding regimes in consultation with central and local government and other major funders, as well as voluntary sector service providers. The research will highlight how contracting is typically a 'risky business', with voluntary sector providers often expected to accept a high burden of risk, which incurs significant cost and inhibits the scale, scope and efficacy of service delivery. The report will develop practical recommendations for more sustainable funding arrangements. Click here to read more.
