New Philanthropy Capital (NPC)
About us

We're passionate about helping effective charities to get the funds they need to change lives for the better:

  • our research creates an understanding of where need is greatest and
  • identifies 'high return' charities for donors;
  • our advice helps donors and their trusted advisors to see giving as an investment that is both effective and rewarding;
  • our tools enable charities to measure and communicate their results effectively.

Who we are

Our 40-strong team works out of offices run by a social enterprise. We're across the river from the Square Mile, a stone's throw from London Bridge station.

We come from a range of backgrounds (from banking to journalism, charities to consulting) and share a desire to make a positive difference: whether that is through understanding the root causes of societal problems, discovering excellent charities and helping them get the funds they deserve, or helping donors maximise the impact of their donations.

The NPC story

NPC was set up by a group of leading City financiers who realised that there was no where to go for independent advice on giving. They set up NPC to fill this gap and we were registered as a charity in 2002. Our founders believe that by arming donors with information on the results achieved by charities and helping charities themselves to get better at focusing on how they change lives they could help to create change.

Charity insight

"The majority of sexual abusers are unknown to the police or probation services, and therefore have no access to services that may prevent them from harming children."

The LUCY FAITHFULL FOUNDATION runs a helpline called Stop It Now! for individuals concerned about their own thoughts or behaviour, and friends, family or parents concerned about the thoughts or behaviour of another, reducing the risk of individuals offending.
